In the new national curriculum, there is a greater focus on universal values, human, nature and social learning. Through the IB, we have a daily strong focus on these topics and interpersonal relationships.
Social learning and interpersonal values are important parts of education and need as much focus as the academic. These are factors that influence each other; better social school environment contributes to higher academic quality, a pedagogically oriented common value understanding increases the motivation of employees, which in turn raises the academic quality.
With the PPV program we want to give more space and time to social learning in our school through different activities for our students, parents, and staff members.
The program has following goals:
Increase understanding and awareness within: - Human Dignity - The convention on the rights of the child - Equality and gender equality - Identity - Diversity, inclusion and respect - Critical thinking and scientific development - Ethical actions - Sustainable development, environmental protection, and respect for nature - Democracy and democratic values - Life skills and health
Works for and against reducing: - Racism and hate - Prejudice and discrimination
Develop: - A better collaboration between school and home - Commitment, sense of belonging and well-being among children, students, staff and parents. - A common understanding of values in the school
